Greene County district court, week ending Aug. 2

In Greene County district court Lyle Lee Olesen, 60, of Coon Rapids was sentenced to 180 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. All but two days of the jail term was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He must complete a drinking drivers course, and he may attend the Des Moines Area Community College 48-hour alcohol education program in lieu of the jail time. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Olesen was fined $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge; one-half will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted license. He must pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees not to exceed $500 and $273 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

Autumn Rae Lee, 23, of Bayard was granted a deferred judgment after she pleaded guilty to a charge of theft- third degree. She was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County probation for two years. She must pay victim restitution of $2,007.80, a civil penalty of $855, an amount not to exceed $500 for her court appointed attorney’s fees. A charge of theft- fourth degree was dismissed. Court costs were $200. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Danae Sellers, 35, of Rippey was sentenced to seven days in jail after she pleaded guilty to a charge of reckless driving, amended from child endangerment- three counts. The jail term was suspended and she was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. She was fined $105f with a $15.75 surcharge. She must also pay $150 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Devin Willia Holm Moralez, 28, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness; Chad Christopher Louk, 47, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness; Jesse James Sanders, 22, of Scranton, assault while display dangers weapon and harassment- first degree, and in a separate case, arson- second degree, and use/possession of explosive material/destructive device.
