In Greene County district court Tracy William McDonald, 48, of Jefferson was sentenced July 3 on three counts of theft- third degree. On each count he was sentenced to a term not to exceed two years in prison, with each of the prison terms suspended. He was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for two years. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge on each count, with the fines and surcharges all suspended. He must pay $889.04 victim restitution on one count, with restitution to be determined on the other two counts. Two other counts of theft- third degree were dismissed, as well as one count of ongoing criminal conduct. Court costs were $147.06. (Sentencing: Honorable Derek Johnson)
Persons pleaded not guilty to charges as follows: Jesse Legrant Edwards, 41, of Shell Knob, MO, burglary- third degree; Joy Ann Durham, 48, of Fort Dodge, burglary- third degree; and Cristian Lugo Cortez, 30, of Marshalltown, driving while license barred. Trial dates were set for Aug. 27.
Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Karmen Andrea Carroll, 32, of Jefferson, interference with official acts- bodily injury; and Jacob P. Labate, 28, of Jefferson, operating while intoxicated.
