At a special meeting of the Scranton city council on June 19, Ethan Laughery was named as the new city attorney. Laughery works for the Hoyt, Morain and Hommer Law Firm in Jefferson.
At a special meeting earlier in the month, the council voted unanimously to replace Jonathan Law as city attorney.
The council reviewed the city’s insurance policies and the changes that were made for fiscal year 2025. A discussion was held regarding the deductibles. The council voted unanimously to approve the insurance policy with changes noted.
