Porch Fest returns to Jefferson Saturday, July 7, offering live music with four different musicians on four different front porches. Each musician will play a 45 minute set, with the audiences moving to the next locale.
The Art of Music celebration will begin at 1:30 pm at 206 E. Park St and the guitar and vocals of Des Moines musician Matt Terronez. The Ducharme-Jones duo will perform at 2:30 at 103 E. Park St. The rockin’ guitar sounds of Taylor King will be featured at 3:30 from the porch at 506 S. Wilson Ave, followed at 4:30 by jazz pianist Tanner Taylor at 300 S. Chestnut St.
Please join us on July 7 for an afternoon of great music with four different musicians on four different front porches each playing 45 minute sets as we celebrate the Art of Music in Jefferson.
The day will wrap up with the music and vocals of Heath Alan’s Deep Roots Band at 5:30 pm at Thomas Jefferson Gardens.
Food trucks will be located at Thomas Jefferson Gardens beginning early in the afternoon. 2 P’s N a Pod, Luck Wife Wine Slushies and Kate’s Kookies plan to be there.
“All you need to bring is your lawn chair and your toes to tap the afternoon away in Jefferson as you listen to quality musicians. Some have been inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and into the Iowa Jazz Hall of Fame,” said an event organizer.
In case of rain, the bands will be located inside at History Boy Theatre and the show will go on there beginning at 1:30.
Porch Fest 24 is presented by Jefferson Matters’ Tower View Team and Jefferson Telecom.
