Ram girls finish soccer season in double overtime

The Greene County girls soccer team ended their season last Monday in a close double overtime game, falling 4-3 to AHSTW on the Vikings’ home field.

The Rams led 3-2 at the end of the first half, with the Vikings tying it up 3-3 to end regulation. The first overtime period was scoreless, with ASHTW putting the ball in the net to take the game during the second OT.

The Class 1A – Region 6 loss ended the season for the Rams with a 0-11 record. The Vikings advanced to play Underwood last Wednesday, falling 11-0. 

For the Rams, Esther Van Horn scored all three goals on three shots. Sophie Johansen had one assist. Lucy Vander Linden, Greene County goalie, had 16 saves in the game.

Graduating team members are Graci Cooklin, Esther Van Horn, Sophie Johansen, Adison Gallagher, Olivia Hoyt, Yaritza Leon Alvarado, Ava Schilling and Sarah Hengst.
