Notice is hereby given that the Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in Greene County, Iowa, for the purpose of nominating Democratic, Libertarian, and Republican candidates for Federal, State and County Offices for the General election.
On Election Day, voters will cast either a Democratic, Libertarian, or Republican ballot. Only voters who are registered with the Democratic, Libertarian, or Republican parties (or people who declare their affiliation with one of these parties at their polling location) may vote in Primary Elections. Only the candidates for that party will appear on the ballot.
Please note that presidential candidates do not appear on the Primary Election ballot in Iowa; presidential and vice-presidential candidates are nominated via the political parties’ national conventions.
The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Central precinct – Clover Hall, fairgrounds, 601 E. Lincoln Way, Jefferson
East precinct – St Brigid Parish Center, 602 Hager St East, Grand Junction
Jefferson 1 – Greene County Community Center, 204 W. Harrison St, Jefferson
Jefferson 2 – Greene County Community Center, 204 W. Harrison St, Jefferson
North – Community Center, 410 Sand St, Churdan
West – Community Room/City Hall, 900 Eagle St, Scranton
Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered in their current residential precinct, voters registering to vote on Election Day and voters changing precincts, must also provide proof of residence. A voter who is unable to provide an approved form of identification (or prove residence, if required) has the following options: (1) may have the voter’s identity/residence attested to by another registered voter in the precinct; (2) prove identity and residence using Election Day Registration documents; (3) cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residence at the county auditor’s office by 12 noon on Monday, June 10, 2024.
