Despite some up and down weather the Greene County boys golf team hit the links again last week and came away with more low scores.
First up on the tee sheet was a meet with St. Edmond on April 15 at the Jefferson Community Golf Course. The Ram boys came away with an impressive victory beating St. Edmond by 29 strokes by a final score of 160-189. Jack Hansen registered the top spot with a score of 34. Head coach Kyle Kinne said the meet was a “Good team win.”
Results were Jack Hansen, 34, 1st; Nathan Behne, 39, 2nd; Landon Vote, 42, 3rd; Nathan Towers, 45, 4th; Carter Hinote,46, 5th; Gavin Trecker, 54, 11th.
Next up the Ram boys took a bit of a break before they headed out to the Perry Country Club on April 20 for their next meet. The Ram boys came in third place shooting a team score of 363 with Gilbert hitting a 320 and ADM shooting a 307. Of those teams at this meet Kinne said Gilbert and ADM are among the top four teams in the state, just who the Ram boys want on the course with them despite cold conditions.
“The boys have said since our season ended last year that they wanted to play the best teams.” Kinne said. “Their mindset is that if we get the opportunity to play those teams, we have to take them even if it’s bad weather, a lot of red noses and cold hands but the other teams golfed in it as well.”
Results were Jack Hansen, 76, 2nd; Nathan Behne, 91, 14th; Nathan Towers, 95, 15th; Noah Hinote, 101, 16th; Broc Stream, 108, 18th.
