The Friday, April 5, lunch meeting of the Greene County Historical Society, will include a tour of RVP ~1875, 115 S. Wilson Ave in Jefferson.
RVP ~1875, which bills itself as “the world’s leading historical furniture shop and museum,” features19th-century woodworking tools and more than 130 pieces of furniture built by shop-museum owner Robby Pedersen.
Each piece of furniture has its own story of historical significance, Pedersen says.
The Iowa Tourism Office named RVP ~1875 the state’s Outstanding Tourism Business in 2013; the Outstanding Retail Experience in 2015; and an Outstanding Tourism Attraction in 2016.
Lunch, which costs $12, begins at noon, followed by the tour at 12:45 pm. Reservations are required. Please call a Historical Society community contact or 515-386-4408 by Tuesday, April 2, to get a seat at an historic table.
