Scranton residents have the opportunity to get rid of unwanted items from their properties as the city is sponsoring a Clean Up Day on Saturday, April 6. The collection hours are 6 to 8 am.
A dumpster will be available for Scranton city residents that day, located on Main St across from the fire department. Household garbage and junk can be placed in the dumpster during the early morning hours.
Assistance will be available for those who need help loading and transporting their debris. Please call city aall (712-652-3888) to discuss your pickup needs.
Items accepted include furniture, televisions, residential computer parts, mattresses and box springs, small cut up carpet pieces, small amounts of scrap lumber and miscellaneous household items.
Items NOT accepted are rocks, bricks, dirt, sand, batteries, motor oil, tires, paint, hazardous materials or medical waste, shingles and construction materials, commercial or industrial waste or animal carcasses.
