Preparations are underway for the annual BOOST Bash. The BOOST committee is eagerly looking forward to the seventh event, to be held at the Greene County Fairgrounds on Saturday, April 6. The doors of the Clover Hall building will open at 5 pm, with dinner to begin at 6:30 pm.
Tables (seating eight people) can be purchased, so gather friends and coworkers and purchase a table. Single tickets are also available. Similar to last year, single ticket buyers will seat themselves at the event. This year’s meal will again be provided by Greene County students and the Ram Restaurant. Tables or tickets can be purchased by going to www.boostgreenecountyschools.com.
Donations and sponsorships are also welcomed. Contact gcschoolsboost@gmail.com to discuss giving or directly mail checks to Greene County Schools BOOST / P.O. Box 4 / Jefferson, Iowa 50129.
BOOST stands for Bringing Optimism & Opportunities to Students & Teachers, and all proceeds from this event will directly impact students and teachers in the Greene County Community School District. The event includes a social, dinner, live and silent auctions, and recognition of the great things happening at GCCSD.
The six previous years have brought in a total of more than $350,000. This ongoing support from the community has created wonderful new opportunities for Greene County students and teachers. Examples of the funded projects include field trips, translator ear buds, computers and iPads for the Art Department, staff appreciation, microbits (coding devices), community service projects, and STEM materials. A full list of what the funding has provided each year is available on the BOOST website.
“Tickets and tables are limited, and previous events have sold out, so reserve your admission today! Ticket sales end March 27,” a BOOST committee spokesperson said. “Thanks for your continued support; we can’t wait to see you on April 6.”
