The Jefferson Kiwanis Club strives to support the growth and activities of children in Greene County. Kiwanians’ motto is “Serving the children of the world.” The club has various ways to raise money for the projects it supports. That includes the annual pancake breakfast each October, the chicken dinner in the spring, and the pop can collection next to Ace Hardware.
Pictured above is Bill Monroe, club president, presenting a check for $500 to Shirley Haupert, director of the Christian Action Resource Center. The club makes ARC a budget item each year due to its importance in providing nutritious food to children and their families. A child grows and is able to learn better with a balanced diet, which ARC does so well.
Other Kiwanians present were Holly Roberts, Sherry Palmer, Bill Raney, Vern Foje, Tim Buenz, and Chad Stevens. Pictured in back is ARC volunteer Lois Rae Brant.
