Friday, Nov. 30: At 4:34 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a reported fight near S. Wilson Ave and W. Harrison St.
Wednesday, Nov. 29: At 7:23 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on 240th St near I Ave in Jackson Township. Alyssa Bergantzel, 24, of Jefferson struck a deer with a 2013 Ford F150, causing an estimated $1,000 damage to the vehicle. At 5:03 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog in the 800 block of Lincoln St in Scranton.
Tuesday, Nov. 28: At 10:09 am a deputy investigated a threat in the 900 block of Head St in Churdan. At 9:28 pm a deputy investigated a two-vehicle accident on Hwy 30 near Hwy 144 in Grand Junction. Gavin Trecker, 17, of Churdan was westbound in the turning lane, driving a 2011 Chevy Silverado. Colton Crouse, 15, of Dana was also westbound on Hwy 30, driving a 2002 Dodge Ram, and turned into Trecker. Grand Junction rescue and Greene County Ambulance responded to the scene; there were no injuries. Crouse was cited for improper turn. Damage to the pickup truck he was driving was estimated at $1,500. Damage to the pickup truck Trecker was driving was estimated at $4,000.
Monday, Nov. 27: At 1:36 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an assault at Greene County Medical Center. At 2:30 am a deputy investigated a complaint of complaint in the 800 block of E. Hager St in Grand Junction. At 6:09 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on Hwy 30 near R Ave east of Jefferson. At 3:40 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 1100 block of N. Locust St in Jefferson. At 5:19 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a two-vehicle accident at Hwys 30 and 4.
Thursday, Nov. 23: At 5:39 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident in the 900 block of N Ave north of Jefferson. Mary Sundell, 56, of Boxholm struck a deer with a 2020 Ford Escape. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $6,000. At 6:38 pm a deputy investigated a single-vehicle accident on 215th St and Imperial Ave in Bristol Township. Kamryn Sanders, 18, of Jefferson lost control of a 2007 Toyota Avalon and entered the ditch, causing an estimated $7,000 damage to the vehicle.
Wednesday, Nov. 22: At 10:29 am a deputy investigated a complaint of election fraud. At 11:34 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD in responding to an assault in the 400 block of W. Russell St. At 5:01 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a search warrant in the 800 block of S. Elm St. At 5:12 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 200 block of Anyer St in Dana. At 6:15 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 4 near 260th St south of Jefferson. Michael Scheppmann, 36, of Des Moines struck a deer with a 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,500. At 7:36 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 30 near Hillcrest Ave west of Jefferson. Ethan Murray, 33, of Des Moines struck a deer with a 2016 Honda CRV. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $600.

Monday, Nov. 20: At 3 am a deputy and Paton Fire responded to a rekindle in the 500 block of Main St in Paton. At 5:35 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 1000 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.
Sunday, Nov. 19: At 4:55 am a deputy, Paton fire, Grand Junction fire, Jefferson fire, Churdan fire, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a house fire at 506 Main St in Paton. The house was a total loss. At 7:47 am a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 900 block of E Ave in Kendrick Township. At 1:40 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 1600 block of Hwy 4 south of Jefferson. At 5:36 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an arrest in the 400 block of W. Head St in Jefferson.
Saturday, Nov. 18: At 7:01 pm a deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on 200th Street near V Ave in Junction Township. Brian Madesen, 33, of Iowa Falls struck a cow with a 2022 Ford F250, causing an estimated $7,000 damage to the vehicle. At 10:52 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an arrest on Hwy 4 near Wild Rose Lane.
Friday, Nov. 17: At 4:54 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 30 near J Avenue west of Jefferson. Jacob Grife, 24, of Jefferson struck a deer with a 2010 Ford F150, causing an estimated $6,000 in damage to the vehicle. At 2:54 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 600 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 6:34 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 4 and 260th St south of Jefferson. Marissa Maier, 17, of Fort Dodge struck a deer with a 2016 Nissan Rogue, causing $2,000 in damage to the vehicle. At 6:51 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 7:45 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment on Hwy 4 near X Ave in Franklin Township. At 7:49 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 2400 block of Quest Ave in Franklin Township. At 9:06 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on W Ave near 240th St east of Grand Junction.
Thursday, Nov. 16: At 6:15 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on Hwy 30 near Orchard Ave. At 9:43 am the sheriff, a deputy, Scranton fire department, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident on 290th St near H Ave in Greenbrier Township. Chris Naylor, 61, of Scranton was traveling east on 290th St in a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pulling a fuel trailer. The wind caught the truck, causing it and the trailer to sway. The vehicle entered the north ditch and rolled once. Nobody was injured in the accident. Damage to the pickup truck was estimated at $15,000. Damage to the fuel trailer was estimated at $10,000. At 5:23 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 8:16 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on D Ave near 182nd St in Kendrick Township. Crystal Hartman, 26, of Lohrville struck a deer with a 2012 Kia Soul, causing an estimated $6,000 in damage to the car.
Wednesday, Nov. 15: At 8:50 am the sheriff and a deputy investigated a two-vehicle accident on Hwy 30 near H Ave east of Scranton. Joshua Stewart, 38, of Callender was driving a 2016 Peter Built semi eastbound on Hwy 30. Stewart rear-ended a 2011 Jeep Patriot that was driven by Luis Maldonado, 51, of Jefferson. The estimated damage to both vehicles is $3,000. Stewart was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured cleared distance. Nobody was injured in the accident. At 4:47 pm a deputy investigated a small fire near Highway 144 and X Ave in Washington Township.
Tuesday, Nov. 14: At 8:34 am the sheriff, deputies, Scranton fire department, Jefferson fire department, Greene County Ambulance, and Grand Junction rescue responded to a four-vehicle accident on Hwy 30 near Granite Ave east of Scranton. Traffic was stopped westbound on Hwy 30 for road construction. Three vehicles were stopped. Ray Bright was operating a 2019 International semi-tractor pulling a grain trailer. Bright rear-ended a 2002 Chrysler Voyager that was driven by Keeley Nelson. The Voyager was pushed into the rear of a 2019 Dodge Caravan that was driven by Christi McKinsey. The Caravan was pushed into a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse that was driven by Zachary Schrader. The Caravan was pushed into the north ditch after making contact with the Traverse. Five people were transported with injuries to the Greene County Medical Center. Bright was cited for failure to stop in assured clear distance. Both the Voyager and the Caravan were totaled in the accident. The semi-tractor had an estimated $15,000 damage. The 2023 Traverse had an estimated $20,000 damage. At 10:49 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 2400 block of 337th St in Washington Township. At 3 pm a deputy issued a salvage tag for a deer in the 1600 block of 235th St east of Jefferson. At 8:41 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 2100 block of I Ave in Greenbrier Township. At 10:13 pm a deputy located a stray dog on Highway 4 near 250th St south of Jefferson. The dog was taken to impound at the Greene County Animal Shelter.
Monday, Nov. 13: At 10:45 am a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 100 block of State St in Scranton. At 11:20 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 1600 block of Meadow Ave in Jackson Township. At 1:40 pm a deputy and the Scranton fire department responded to a field fire in the 1700 block of D Ave in Scranton Township. At 2 pm a deputy observed a motorcyclist going 73 mph on Hwy 25 near 250th St south of Scranton. The driver attempted to flee from the deputy and reached speeds of 122 mph. Robert Pool, 29, of Glidden was arrested for eluding, fail to yield to an emergency vehicle, speeding 122 in a 55, and no valid driver’s license*. At 8:21 pm the sheriff, a deputy, and the Jefferson PD located a runaway on W. Lincoln Way and Pinet St in Jefferson.
Sunday, Nov. 12: At 8:05 am the sheriff and deputy investigated a vehicle found in a ravine near S Ave and Hwy 30 west of Grand Junction. At 12:01 pm the sheriff and a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an arrest in the 200 block of Gallup Rd. Angela Dudley, 50, of Jefferson was arrested for trespass and interference with official acts*. At 12:08 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 800 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 8:25 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 4 near 257th St south of Jefferson. Danielle Spencer, 37, of Yale struck a deer with a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, causing an estimated $3,000 damage to the vehicle.
Saturday, Nov. 11: At 3:09 am a deputy investigated a driving complaint on Main St and Hwy 144 in Grand Junction. Renya Quintanilla, 51, of Perry was arrested for operating while under the influence- second offense*. At 2:55 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 400 block of Bell St in Churdan. At 4:50 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on Hwy 144 near 250th St north of Grand Junction.
Friday, Nov. 10: At 6:05 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 1200 block of 130th St in Highland Township. At 8:33 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 9:55 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 800 block of Hills Ave in Churdan. At 10:53 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 2100 block of 240th St in Junction Township.
Thursday, Nov. 9: At 12:04 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of two dogs chasing cattle in the 2000 block of J Ave in Greenbrier Township. The two white dogs were caught and taken to the Greene County Animal Shelter impound. At 5:27 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on 237th St near Deer Run Road west of Jefferson.
Wednesday, Nov. 8: At 2:33 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 30 Street near 222nd St east of Jefferson. Daniel Gudahl, 68, of Coon Rapids struck a deer with a 2020 Honda Ridgeline. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000. At 9:13 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 200 block of W. Main St in Rippey. At 11:12 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1100 block of Lincoln St in Scranton. At 1:36 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal dumping in the 1000 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 4:55 pm a deputy assisted the Boone PD with a complaint of harassment on Hwy 30 near X Ave east of Grand Junction. At 7:11 pm a deputy investigated a semi-deer accident on 130th St near P Ave in Dawson Township. Nathan Rauch, 45, of Glidden struck a deer with a 2006 Freightliner, causing an estimated $1,500 dollars to the rig.
Tuesday, Nov. 7: At 5:25 pm a deputy investigated a report of a fire near J Ave on Hwy 30 west of Jefferson. At 6:02 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 100 block of Elizabeth St in Grand Junction.
Monday, Nov. 6: At 12:01 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 600 block of East Main Street, Grand Junction. At 11:19 am a deputy investigated a domestic assault in the 700 block of Percival St in Grand Junction. At 3:13 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 500 block of 3rd St in Rippey.
Sunday, Nov. 5: At 7:59 am a deputy issued a salvage tag for a deer on Hwy 144 near 130th St east of Paton. At 1:26 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a goose and two ducks in the 600 block of Jefferson St in Scranton.
Saturday, Nov. 4: At 6:55 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of metal sticking up from the railroad crossing on J Ave near 230th St in Jackson Township. Union Pacific railroad was contacted about the issue. At 9:21 pm a deputy investigated a theft on S Ave near Hwy 30 west of Grand Junction.
Friday, Nov. 3: At 5:10 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a deceased dog in the river near 290th St and S Ave in Franklin Township. At 6:01 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on 237th St near Kirkwood Ave west of Jefferson. At 9:01 pm a deputy and Scranton Fire responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of 240th St in Scranton Township. An outbuilding was a total loss.
Thursday, Nov. 2: At 1:29 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal dumping in the 1100 block of 244th St in Jackson Township. At 3:44 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 1600 block of Meadow Ave in Jackson Township. At 4:28 pm a deputy conducted a search of a vehicle at Seven Hills Park. Suspected marijuana was located in the car. Charges are pending lab results. At 9:37 pm a deputy attempted to locate reported cattle out on J Avenue near Hwy 30 west of Jefferson.
Wednesday, Nov. 1: At 1:52 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 30 near Hillcrest Ave west of Jefferson. Michael Christy, 49, of Scranton struck a deer with a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $15,000. At 4:35 am a deputy investigated a complaint of a train shooting sparks near Hwy 30 and Y Ave east of Grand Junction. At 7:28 am a deputy investigated a school bus violation on Elizabeth St near 9th St in Grand Junction. At 10:46 am a deputy investigated a dog bite in the 900 block of Eagle St in Scranton. At 10:46 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a child removal in the 300 block of N. High St in Jefferson.
