Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Jefferson police department:
Thursday, Nov. 30: At 3:29 pm a caller advised of a possible intoxicated driver who just arrived at a residence in the 300 block of N. Cedar St. The officer arrived at the address and made contact with a female, still seated in a vehicle with her seat belt on. The female admitted to consuming alcohol but refused all testing. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Madison Lyann Meyers, 20, of Jefferson for operating while intoxicated (serious misdemeanor)*. At the jail she submitted to a breath specimen on the Data Master, with a result of .246% BAC. At 4:36 pm staff at Greene County High School reported the two female students had been overheard talking about “shooting up the school.” The officer’s investigation showed no actual plan to do so, just bad decisions on making the statements.
Wednesday, Nov. 29: At 3:41 pm a mother reported her juvenile daughter had been assaulted at Greene County Middle School. The officer is investigating. At 8:23 pm staff at Cobblestone Inn requested an officer to speak with a subject who did not feel safe. The officer spoke with the subject and learned it was in connection to an event which occurred in Grand Junction. The information was passed to a deputy.
Tuesday, Nov. 28: At 11:51 am while on patrol an officer observed a male entering the Dollar Tree store. The officer believed the male to have an active warrant for his arrest. As a result of the investigation, Kyle Rysavy of Jefferson was arrested for the Greene County warrant on a charge of failure to appear- possession of marijuana*. At 12:20 pm an officer provided traffic control for a disabled vehicle near the intersection of N. Elm St and Central Ave.
Monday, Nov. 27: At 1:36 am staff at the Greene County Medical Center ER requested an officer there for an unruly patient. The officer and a deputy stood by until no longer needed. At 5:19 pm an officer investigated an accident at Hwy 30 and N. Elm St. Kenton Higgins of Grand Junction was westbound on Hwy 30 driving his 2005 Chevy Silverado. Everett Lahr of Callender was operating a 2000 Peterbilt semi tractor-trailer owned by Doyle Snow Removal. Higgins stopped as posted, but left the stop sign as Lahr attempted to turn left to head north on Hwy 4. The units collided in the intersection. Higgins was cited for unsafe starting of a stopped vehicle. Damage to each of the vehicles was estimated at $2,500.
Sunday, Nov. 26: At 8:20 pm an officer assisted a deputy at ER with a patient brought in by ambulance.
Saturday, Nov. 25: At 11:24 am officers were assisted by a deputy in executing a narcotics search warrant in the 1300 block of Ferguson Circle. Items of paraphernalia and suspected marijuana were seized for testing. Charges are pending lab results.
Friday, Nov. 24: Routine activity reported.
Thursday, Nov. 23: At 9:30 pm an officer assisted Jefferson fire with a fuel spill at 701 W. Wall St. The firemen cleaned up the spill.
Wednesday, Nov. 22: At 11:34 am a caller reported a domestic abuse assault occurring near S. Maple and W. Russell Sts. The report advised a female was hitting a male and then was attempting to hit him with a vehicle. The officer arrived and learned the female had struck the male while on his motorcycle. The male attempted to flee in a truck and the female struck him with the truck. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Alysha Steece, 45, of Jefferson for willful injury (Class D felony), domestic assault/display or use of weapon (aggravated misdemeanor) and criminal mischief- first degree (Class C felony)*. At 2:17 pm a complainant reported her stepchildren had been allowed to ride in a vehicle with their mother while not in car seats. The officer reported the incident to DHS. At 5:01 pm officers were assisted by deputies in executing a search warrant at a residence in the 800 block of S. Elm St. The search warrant is in connection to a reported sex assault. Items were seized as evidence in the execution. At 9:03 pm a complainant reported her husband works in Jefferson and was off work at 5 pm. She had not been successful in reaching him on his cell phone. The officer went to his workplace and learned he had left at 5. The officer had dispatch put a BOLO on NCIC for the subject and learned he was in custody in Dallas County. The information was given to his wife.

Sunday, Nov. 19: At 2:25 pm staff at Casey’s reported the subject reported earlier on the violation of a no contact order was present again. The subject left before the officers arrived.
Saturday, Nov. 18: At 5:41 pm a complainant reported her juvenile daughter had taken a several melatonin tablets and run from the residence. Officers located the juvenile in the area and transported her to ER. At 10:52 pm a traffic stop was performed on a driver who did not stop as posted at the intersection of Hwys 4 and 30. During the interaction, the officer could smell alcohol coming from the driver. The investigation led to the arrest of Dillion Schriever, 22, of Greene for operating while intoxicated- third offense (Class D felony)*. He was also cited for failure to obey stop sign.
Friday, Nov. 17: At 10:08 am an Amazon driver reported a missing manhole cover near Lincoln Way and Cedar St. Public Works replaced the cover. At 11:01 am staff at Greene County Middle School reported a student had been caught with a vaping device. The officer is investigating. At 5:37 pm staff at Casey’s reported a violation of a no contact order had occurred there. The officer’s investigation led to requesting an arrest warrant on three counts of violation of a no contact order. At 6:12 pm staff at Regency Park reported the theft of prescription medications at the facility. The event is under investigation.

Wednesday, Nov. 15: At 2:57 pm a complainant reported a missing manhole cover near the intersection of Cedar St and E. Lincoln Way. The officer located the manhole with the missing cover and stood by until the city streets crew replaced it. At 3:49 pm an officer investigated a collision in the parking lot at Greene County High School. Camden Jacobs was operating a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Rebecca Ladd was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu. While in motion from their parking spots the vehicles collided. Damage to each vehicle was estimated at $300. No citations were issued as the collision occurred on private property.
Tuesday, Nov. 14: At 6:42 am a complainant reported a vehicle had hit the building overnight at 308 W. Greenewood Rd and caused damage to the wall. The officer’s investigation showed a 2007 Nissan Altima, owned and operated by William Richardson of Jefferson, jumped the curb and struck the building from a private parking lot. The vehicle suffered only minor damages of $500. The building wall had a reported $7,500 in damages. No citation was issued as it occurred on private property. At 3:38 pm an officer investigated a two-vehicle collision in the 1200 block of N. Elm St. Tara Quirk of Grand Junction was northbound operating her 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe. Steven Sillyman of Grand Junction was southbound driving his 2023 Chrysler Voyager. He turned left in front of Quirk and the vehicles collided. Sillyman was cited for failure to yield upon a left turn. Damage to his vehicle was estimated at $500. Damage to Quirk’s vehicle was estimated at $2,000.
Monday, Nov. 13: At 6:02 am management at Fareway reported a theft. A subject did not scan all the items at the self-checkout lane before leaving the business. The officer is investigating. At 12:34 pm an officer arrested Samantha Randall, 38, of Perry at a residence in the 100 block of N. Olive St on a Carroll County warrant for probation violation. During a consent search of her vehicle, the officer seized suspected narcotics for lab testing. Randall was also cited for driving while license suspended. At 4:17 pm a complainant reported a theft of saddles and tack from a horse trailer in the 400 block of W. South St. Value of the missing items is $10,000. The officer is investigating. At 8:21 pm staff at the Greene County Medical Center emergency department reported a juvenile female had assaulted a nurse and left ER on foot. The juvenile was under court order to remain at ER. Officers and deputies located the female nearby and took her back to ER. At 8:59 pm an officer was advised of a vehicle on which two tires were shredded while crossing the Union Pacific crossing on N. Grimmell Rd. Concrete had pulled apart, opening a 14-inch gap at the tracks. The public works director used equipment to push the concrete pad back into place, until Union Pacific can make repairs.
Sunday, Nov. 12: At 12:01 pm staff at Super 8 Motel requested an officer for a subject barricaded in her room and refusing to leave. Angela Lou Dudley, 50, of Jefferson was arrested for trespass and interference with official acts, both simple misdemeanors*. At 8:25 pm an officer responded to a car-deer accident in the 1600 block of Neola Ave until a sheriff’s deputy arrived.
Saturday, Nov. 11: At 1:13 pm an officer was advised of a stray dog in the 200 block of S. Chestnut St. The officer placed the dog in impound.
Friday, Nov. 10: At 12:57 am staff at Cobblestone Hotel reported locating suspected narcotics in a bathroom there. The officer took possession of the substance, which tested positive for cocaine. The item will be destroyed. At 11:15 am based on a complaint received an officer began an investigation of a sex abuse. At 4:39 pm an officer provided traffic control in the 1700 block of N. Elm St while the Jefferson fire department extinguished a truck fire. At 5:33 pm staff at Sierra Community Theatre reported subjects yelling out of an upstairs apartment in the 200 block of E. State St, harassing theatre customers. The officer spoke to group in a nearby apartment and advised them to end the practice. At 8:08 pm an officer removed a deceased deer from the roadway near Westwood Dr and Linwood Rd.
Thursday, Nov. 9: At 9:25 pm staff at HyVee reported a car in the parking lot with a dog inside. The store was closed and no one was left inside. The officer arrived and made attempts to reach the vehicle’s owner but was unsuccessful. The officer placed the dog in impound. At 9:25 pm a complainant reported glass on the roadway in the 900 block of E. Lincoln Way. The officer found a bag of ice had been dropped on the roadway but found no glass.
Wednesday, Nov. 8: At 1:09 am a complainant requested to meet with an officer to report an earlier altercation with someone. During the event, she requested the officer to transport her across town. The officer requested to search her purse and she consented. Prescription medications not in the RX bottle and green leafy materials were located in the purse. The items were seized for testing. At 6:18 am management at Fareway reported a theft. Video shows a known female who did not scan several of her items in the self-checkout lane. The value of the stolen items is $28.38. The officer is investigating. At 8:30 am a GCCSD bus driver submitted a school bus passing violation form to an officer. A driver had passed the stopped bus in the 400 block of W. South St while the stop sign on the bus was extended and the red lights were activated. The bus driver provided a vehicle and driver description along with a plate number. The officer is investigating. At 5:36 pm a caller reported a male lying passed out in the parking lot at Camden Apartments. The officer summoned an ambulance to check on the male. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Nathan Christopher Moissinac, 19, of Jefferson for public intoxication*. At 6:19 pm Shannon Sturgeon of Gowrie reported striking a deer on Hwy 30 west of Oakland Ave east of Jefferson. Damage to the 2020 Nissan, owned by Vanguard Utility Partners of Springville was towed from the scene. The officer estimated damage at $10,000.
Tuesday, Nov. 7: At 12:17 pm a complainant reported a stray dog in the 1000 block of W. Lincoln Way. The officer located the dog and placed it in the pound. At 1:28 pm staff at Greene County Middle School requested an officer for a student spitting in the faces of other students. Juvenile charges are pending.
Monday, Nov. 6: At 12:01 am staff at Greene County Medical Center ER requested an officer speak to a patient there. The subject wanted to report an assault which had occurred in Grand Junction. The officer passed the information to a deputy. At 4:52 pm a complainant reported three domestic abuse assaults against her in the past three years. The officer is investigating. At 7:12 pm an officer arrested Michael Molle, 61, of Jefferson on an outstanding arrest warrant for probation violation*.
Sunday, Nov. 5: At 1:19 pm a traffic stop near W. Central Ave and Mulberry St resulted in Austin O’Connell of Scranton being cited for driving while license suspended. During the event the officer could smell marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During the probable cause search, a female passenger handed the officer a smoking device containing marijuana. The officer has requested arrest warrants for Charley Ann Dozark, 37, of Jefferson for possession of marijuana (serious misdemeanor) and possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). At 12:47 pm a subject turned in a bag of quarters he had found at the Jefferson Car Wash at 902 N. Vine St. The bag can be picked up at the jail if you can identify it. At 4:18 pm an officer performed a traffic stop on a driver who failed to stop as posted at Elm St and W. Lincoln Way. The officer could smell marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During a probable cause search of the vehicle the officer located a bag of marijuana and a glass smoking device. Andrew E. Bounds of Nebraska was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana (serious misdemeanor) and possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). He was also cited for failure to obey stop sign. At 4:13 pm a resident reported her adult brother was walking home from the medical center ER and became disoriented and lost. The officer located the subject and provided him a ride to his residence in the 500 block of E. Clark St.
Saturday, Nov. 4: At 3:29 pm an officer was called to a residence in the 600 block of W. Adams St for a juvenile male who was out of control and threatening others. The officer arrived and spoke to a group of people present. The juvenile made threats against his mother and others. He then made threats to harm himself. The officer transported the subject to ER to be evaluated. After receiving medical care, the officer placed the 13-year-old juvenile into custody for harassment- first degree, 3 counts (aggravated misdemeanor) and assault, two counts, and disorderly conduct (simple misdemeanor)*. The juvenile was later transported by a juvenile detention officer to Eldora. The aforementioned charges were sent to the juvenile court. At 4:21 pm staff at HyVee reported catching female juveniles stealing items from the store. The officer recovered some of the items from them. Juvenile charges are pending the completion of the investigation. At 10 pm a complainant requested an officer at Wild Rose Casino. The officer arrived and learned the complainant’s ex-boyfriend had chased her through the parking lot on foot. He punched and broke out her car window. The officer watched the video of the event and it matched her description of the event. The male later called and spoke to the officer. He admitted to the event. The officer has requested arrest warrants for Christopher Craig Edwards, 42, of Carroll for criminal mischief- third degree (aggravated misdemeanor) and disorderly conduct (simple misdemeanor)*.
Friday, Nov. 3: At 12:45 pm security staff at Wild Rose Casino reported a wanted male at the casino. The officer checked on the warrant and arrested Anthony Castle on the Calhoun County arrest warrant.
Thursday, Nov. 2: At 12:36 pm an officer assisted the Department of Human Services at a residence in the 300 block of N. Oak St. At 3:19 pm the county attorney’s office reported a possible violation of a no contact order having occurred in the 300 block of S. Vine St. The officer is investigating. At 9:23 pm an anonymous caller requested a welfare check on a female who lives in the 300 block of N. Maple St. The officer checked on the female and transported her to the Greene County Medical Center ER for treatment.
Wednesday, Nov. 1: At 9:14 am an officer assisted the Department of Human Services with an investigation in the 300 block of N. High St. At 1:40 pm an officer was dispatched to Greene Bean Coffee for a theft report. The officer is investigating.
