Greene County district court, week ending Sept. 15

In Greene County district Brandon James Svaleson, 41, of Boone was sentenced Sept. 12 to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of fraudulent practice- third degree. The prison sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge. He must pay an amount not to exceed $600 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $170.22 court costs. A charge of gambling- avoid setoff was dismissed. Shelli Joyce Larson, 60, of Callender was sentenced to one year in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of fraudulent practice- second degree. The jail time was suspended and she was placed on informal probation to the Greene County sheriff for one year. She was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. Court costs were $100. A charge of gambling- avoid setoff was dismissed. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Nathan Ray Scott Pote, 32, of Des Moines was sentenced to 10 years in prison with credit for time served after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of theft- first degree. The prison term is concurrent to a sentence in a Polk County case. He was fined $1,370 with a $205.50 surcharge; both were suspended. A charge of possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense was dismissed. The court found Pote unable to pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees or court costs. Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Jason Douglas Dane, 48, of Jefferson, gambling, false statement on application; Royce Christopher Gonnelly, 32, of Jefferson, driving while license revoked, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness, and harassment- first degree; Issabell Rose Clark, 19, of Madrid, assault causing serious injury, willful injury causing serious injury, and going armed with intent; and Karston Armen Ausborn, 22, of Lytton, operating while intoxicated- second offense and possession of marijuana.
