PAWS plans Sept. 9 microchip clinic

PAWS – People for Animal Welfare Society – will hold a microchip clinic Saturday, Sept. 9, from 12 to 3 pm at the Greene County Animal Shelter, 1700 Doreen Wilber Drive, in Jefferson.

PAWS members encourage all dog and cat owners, especially owners of those that enjoy an occasional day out wandering the neighborhood, to have their pets microchipped. “We here at the Greene County Animal Shelter like nothing better than reuniting Fido or Fifi to their rightful owner. The best way to do this is with a microchip implant,” a PAWS spokesperson said.

Cost of the 24PetWatch microchip is $20.

Those who plan to bring pets to be microchipped are asked to email PAWS at pawsofgreenecounty@hotmail.com or message the group on Facebook. Advance notice is preferred, but walk-ups are welcome as well.
