Greene County district court, week ending Aug. 18

In Greene County district court Rodney Wesley Reed, 60, of Grand Junction was sentenced Aug. 14 to 30 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal mischief- fourth degree, amended from criminal mischief- third degree. The jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. Reed was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. He must pay $637.98 restitution to the city of Grand Junction. Court costs were $136.50. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph M. McCarville)

Angela Louise Robbins, 50, of Carroll was granted a deferred judgment after she pleaded guilty to a charge of passing winning wager to another person, amended from gambling- avoid setoff. She must pay a $1,370 civil penalty and an amount not to exceed $900 for her court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $105. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Devin Julian Villalobos, 22, of Jefferson was sentenced to four days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license revoked. The jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for one year. Villalobos was fined $1,000 with a $150 surcharge. He must pay an amount not to exceed $500 for his court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Todd Edward Geisler, 51, of Jefferson was sentenced to one year in jail, with all but four days suspended, after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. He may complete a 48-hour alcohol education program in lieu of two days of the jail time. He was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense, and he must complete a drinking driver course. Geisler was fined $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge; one-half will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted license. Court costs were $140. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Julie Anne Wells, 56, of Carroll was sentenced to prison for five years after she pleaded guilty to a charge of theft- second degree aiding and abetting, amended from theft- second degree. She was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge; both were suspended. She is jointly and severally liable with another individual for $4,285 victim restitution. Charges of burglary- third degree and theft- second degree (one count) were dismissed. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Dylan Ades, 20, of Rippey was granted deferred judgments on charges of domestic abuse assault, amended from domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness, and possession of marijuana. He must pay a $105 civil penalty on the domestic abuse charge and a $100 civil penalty on the marijuana charge. He was placed on informal probation to the Greene County sheriff for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Ashley Marie Spaulding, 26, of Jefferson, was fined $105 with a $15.75 surcharge after she pleaded guilty to a charge of assault- simple, amended from assault causing bodily injury or mental illness. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Persons pleaded not guilty to a charges as follows: Patricia Joann Day, 65, of Fort dodge, possession of marijuana; Gene Dillavou, 43, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana; Joshua Jospeh Ireland, 44, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault impeding blood/air flow; Chad Thomas Logan, 53, of Grand Junction, assault while display dangerous weapon; and Richard Burdine Young, 62, of Jefferson, operating while intoxicated. Trial dates were set for Oct. 31 in every case.

Cases were initiated during the week ending Aug. 18 as follows: Coleman Keith Marlow Jr, 41, of Jefferson, harassment- first degree; and Cody Michael Husar, 20, of Churdan, unlawful manner of conveyance.
