The Greene County Rams baseball team played three games last week, falling each time. The team has a 1-10 record, 0-4 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference.
On Monday, June 5, the Rams hosted Nevada, falling 15-5. There were three Greene County hits, singles from Dakota Mobley and Isaac Carman and a double from Noah Hinote. The Rams had 18 putouts, five from Crew Conner and four from Brayden Roberts, with five team errors on 29 total chances. Nathan Towers and Teagan Chisholm split pitching duty, allowing 13 hits with five walks, three hit batters and three strikeouts.
The Rams played at Principal Park on Tuesday against Winterset with the Rams losing 7-2. The Huskies punched home two runs in the first and fourth innings and three in the second. GC got on the scoreboard with two runs in the sixth. Greene County had two hits, a single each from Lane Fields and Roberts. On the field, Greene County had 18 putouts and two errors. Gavyn Winters and Hinote were on the mound, pitching 136 balls for five hits, eight walks, four hit batters and five strikeouts.
Greene County played at Saydel High School on Wednesday, falling 5-0. The Eagles scored five run in the first inning and that was all the scoring in the contest. No stats were available for the game.
The Rams are scheduled to play again on Monday at home against South Hamilton, Wednesday at PCM High School and on Thursday at Roland-Story High School for a double header.
Next week’s action includes: June 19 at home vs West Marshall; June 20 at home vs Manson-Northwest Webster; June 21 at Perry and June 23 at home vs Carroll.
