Iowa author Ann Hanigan Kotz will speak Wednesday, May 24, at part of the Jefferson public library’s 2023 author series.
Hanigan Kotz grew up southwest of Denison in a large farming family. She is a retired teacher, with most of her career at Waukee High School as an advanced placement English teacher. She picked up her writing career after retiring.
Her new book, “The Journey of Karoline Olsen,” tells the story of Karoline Olsen, a Norwegian immigrant and widowed mother of six, and the challenges of building a life out of nothing but the dirt on which she stands.
The program will begin at 2 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson. It is open to the public and refreshments will be served.
Hanigan Kotz will have autographed books available for purchase.
