In Greene County district court Eric Christopher Rosenow, 39, of Jefferson was sentenced May 11 to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- third or subsequent offense. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for three years. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. A judgment was entered against Rosenow for a $1,025 fine with a $153.75 surcharge. A charge of possession of marijuana was dismissed. Court costs were $155.15. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Disposition was entered in a case against Christopher Herbert Lawrence, 43, of Jefferson after he changed his plea to guilty to two counts of unauthorized use of credit card less than $1,500. He was sentenced to two years in prison on each count. He was also sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of theft- third degree. The sentences were all suspended, but will be consecutive if they’re ever served. He was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for two years. Lawrence must reside at a residential correctional facility 180 days or until maximum benefit is attained. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge on all three counts; the fines and surcharges were suspended. The matter of victim restitution “remains open.” Five counts of unauthorized use of credit card less than $1,500 were dismissed. Lawrence must pay an amount not to exceed $750 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Mecktisha Jane Hagar, 24, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. She must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense, and she will be on probation to the Greene County sheriff for one year. A judgment was entered for a $430 civil penalty. Hagar must pay an amount not to exceed $400 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. A charge against her in magistrate court of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. Court costs were $60. (Sentencing: McCarville)
