Rippey Library May Events

Story Time:  Tuesdays (Crafts available all week) 4:15-5:15 pm – May 2, May Day theme; May 9, Mother’s Day theme; May 16, bicycles; May 23, Memorial Day theme; May 30, beach theme.

Tween/Teen Hangout:  Wednesdays  at 4:15 pm – May 3, Cinco de Mayo; May 10, egg carton gardens; May 17, board games; May 24, Legos; May 31, Wii games.

Adult programs:  Thursdays at 3 pm — May 4, Bingo for Books; May 11, Coffee and Treats; May 18, adult coloring; May 25, wallpaper vases.

Saturdays:  9:00 am — May 6, dirt cups; May 13, adult coloring; May 20, Bingo for Books; May 27, baseball craft.

The new display theme for May is baseball.  If you have any memorabilia you are willing to share, contact Nancy Hanaman or drop them off at the library.

Rippey Lions Club – The Rippey Lions Club will meet May 4 at 6 pm in the Rippey UMC for a potluck meal with a business meeting to follow and the program at 7 pm.  Mary Tighe, SMP volunteer counselor, will share about free service available relating to Medicare, frauds, scams, preventative benefit, financial assistance and other resources. The public is invited to the program. If you are interested in coming to the meal, contact Nancy Hanaman at 515 210-9354

Friendships renewed – Sandy (Nail) Gabrielson, of Nevada, Linda Burk, and Lana Nail, both of Ankeny, visited the home of Jean Borgeson Tuesday, April 29.  The ladies enjoyed eating out and reminiscing.  Sandy was the Borgeson babysitter and the two older Burk boys stayed at the Borgeson home while Linda taught at Jamaica during the 1970s.
