Music students at Greene County Middle School are preparing for concerts to finish the school year.
Choir students in grades 6-8 will perform Tuesday, May 9, at 6:30 pm in the middle school auditorium. Song sets will include country, rock, rhythm and blues, Broadway and pop.
Fifth grade choir students will present the mini musical “Dig It” Monday, May 15, at 7 pm in the middle school auditorium. Performers will take the audience back in time to the civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt and Greece with Taki, Tut, Lucy, and many more. “It will be a fun singing, dancing, and learning experience for all,” vocal music teacher Brenda Roberts said.
The middle school bands will perform Thursday, May 18. The middle school jazz band will perform at 6 pm in the school commons. The sixth grade band will perform at 6:30 pm in the auditorium, followed by the 7/8 grade band at 7, also in the auditorium. Middle school band director is Bob Palmer.
