Michelle Book, CEO of the Food Bank of Iowa and a Jefferson native, will hold a town hall-style event, “Up Close and Personal,” Tuesday, April 25, in the Rotary Room at the Jefferson Community Golf Course.
Book will discuss food insecurity in Iowa and the role of the Food Bank of Iowa. She hopes to hear feedback from community members about other ways the Food Bank can assist. She wants to hear from people other than just those who run food pantries or meal sites.
The Food Bank of Iowa has partnerships with the Greene County Christian Action Resource Center, the food bank at Northside Assembly of God in Jefferson, the Sweet Treats food pantry at the Scranton United Methodist Church, and food pantries at both Greene County and Paton-Churdan schools.
“Up Close and Personal” will start at 10 am. All are welcome; no registration is necessary.
