The Greene County girls golf team played two nine-hole rounds last week, falling against Roland-Story and Kuemper Catholic.
On Monday, April 10 the team traveled to the Riverbend Golf Course to face Roland-Story, and with too many strokes, lost 186-281.
Scores were: Maya Telleen, 62, 11th; Taylor Johnston, 70, 14th; Maggie Mikkelsen, 75, 15th; Hallie Monthei, 78, 18th.
The team golfed in Grand Junction at The Hill on Friday, falling to Kuemper Catholic 197-240. It was the Rams’ first time to have a full complement of six players. Telleen, Monthei and Skylar Warnke each shot 57, with Johnston at 59, Mikkelsen at 66 and Alivia Cornell at 71.
“The girls are doing a great job learning and improving. I’m very proud of them,” coach Heath Telleen said.
The Rams started a new week April 17 with a win at The Hill over St Edmond of Fort Dodge. The Rams scored 230, with Hallie Monthei scoring 56, Maya Telleen and Maggie Mikkelsen both scoring 57, and Taylor Johnston at 60.
Coach Telleen called the win “a massive step in the right direction for this team.”
St Edmond carded a 237.
