Greene County Dems slate odd-year caucus

Greene County Democrats will hold their 2023 caucus and organizing meeting Tuesday, March 21, at the Jefferson municipal building at 220 N. Chestnut St. Doors will open and registration will begin at 6:30 pm. The caucus and election of officers and precinct leaders will begin at 7 and conclude by 8:30.

All Greene County precincts will meet together. All registered Democrats who reside in the county may participate. Voter registration will be available that evening.

Immediately following the caucus, the biennial organizing meeting will be held. The purpose of the meeting is to elect the Greene County Democrat central committee officers. All precinct people are entitled to vote.

The officers being elected are chair, vice chair, treasurer, secretary, and chairs of the standing committee. Any registered Democrat residing in Greene County is eligible to run for any office. Nominations will be taken from the floor and self-nominations are allowed.

The Jefferson municipal building is ADA compliant. A hybrid option is available for those who cannot attend in person. Persons who need a Zoom link or additional accommodations should email their request to GreeneCountyIA.Democrats@gmail.com by Monday, March 20, at 5 pm.
