The Greene County Veteran’s Affairs office is offering a unique trip on Saturday, April 15. Veterans and a guest will travel to the Gold Star Museum at Camp Dodge in Johnston for a tour.
The museum has numerous displays about the men and women from Iowa and the nation who bravely served in the armed services throughout the wars and conflicts. More information about the museum is available at www.goldstarmuseum.Iowa.gov
The trip will leave from Wild Rose Casino parking lot at 9 am with transportation provided by Windstar buses. A box lunch will be provided by the Centennial in Jefferson followed by a briefing on veteran’s benefits.
The buses are expected to return to Jefferson about 3 pm. Funds for the trip are provided by the State of Iowa Veterans Outreach Grant Program.
