In Greene county district court persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Brandon James Svaleson, 41, of Boone, fraudulent practice- third degree, gambling- avoid set off; Katie Marie Wisecup, 31, of Ames, fraudulent practice- third degree, gambling- avoid set off; and Richard Braden Daugherty, 18, of Paton, possession of marijuana. Trial dates were set for April 4 in every case.
Cases were initiated in district court during the week ending Feb. 24 as follows: Shelly Marie Esquer, 59, of Fort Dodge, fraudulent practice- second degree, gambling- avoid set off; Nathan Allen Taylor Martin, 47, of Carroll, gambling- avoid set off, and in a second case, gambling- avoid set off and fraudulent practice- second degree; Bruce William King, 61, of Dayton, possession of methamphetamine; and Aubrie Leiann Lawrence, 22, of Jefferson, theft- fourth degree against older individual, identity theft less than $1,500, and unauthorized use of credit card less than $1,500;
