The Greene County Ram boys basketball team advanced to the second round of post-season play with a 68-46 win over Woodward-Granger in Jefferson Feb. 13.
The Rams took the lead early, racking up 22 points in the first quarter while holding the Hawks to 11 points. The Rams continued their dominance, running the lead up to 35-17 at halftime and expanding it to 54-30 after three quarters.
Senior Jesse Miller led the Rams in scoring with 21 points. He made it a double-double with 10 rebounds. Junior Gabe Ebersole also had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Richard Daugherty scored 20 points and had four rebounds. Senior Patrick Daugherty scored five points, senior Lucas Jablonski scored three points and junior Brynley Ruzicka and sophomore Noah Hinote made two points each.
As a team the Rams shot field goals at 38.9 percent and 3-point shots at 23.1 percent. The grabbed 27 defensive rebounds and 11 offensive rebounds. They committed 20 fouls and turned the ball over just six times for the game.
The Rams will face the Kuemper Knights in Carroll Thursday in the Class 2A District 2quarterfinals. The Rams take a 10-12 record into the game, while the Knights are 15-6.
