The Greene County wrestling team had a junior varsity meet and a home dual last week as the end of the season approaches.
The Rams are scheduled to wrestle on Saturday at Webster City High School for the Class 2A district meet. The state tournament is scheduled next week (Feb. 15-18) at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
On Jan. 30, the Rams took part in a junior varsity tournament at Dallas Center-Grimes. Jacob Harmeyer took first place in his bracket, with Zeke Binkley and Marcus Ball each finishing second, and Gabe Fincel taking third.

Bracket 4 – Jacob Harmeyer won by decision over Brenden Deist 8-4; won by fall over Pedro Linhares 0:52; won by fall over Clint Kirkpatrick 0:26, first place.
Bracket 18 – Gabe Fincel won by decision over Zachary Ung 6-0; lost by fall to Alex Peiffer 4:48; lost by fall to Rylan Baase 1:12, third place.
Bracket 19 – Zeke Binkley won by fall over Keary Sanger 4:54; lost by decision to Jarek Copeland 7-0; won by fall over Kellen Smith 4:31, second place.
Bracket 43 – Marcus Ball lost by fall to Jayden Mantalvo 1:28; won by fall over Isaac Hill 1:03, second place.
On Jan. 31, the Rams hosted a dual against AC/GC and Urbandale. Against AC/GC, the Rams fell 37-35. Gavyn Winters, McKinley Robbins, Brent Dennhardt and Gavin Scheuermann each won by falls. Jackson Turner won by tech fall and Kale Petersen won by forfeit.

The Rams fell to Urbandale 39-29. Petersen, Robbins and Dennhardt each won by falls, with Winters taking a tech fall win, and Gabe Fincel and Gavin Scheuermann each winning by decision.
