Arrest in Grand Junction shooting

A suspect has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Grand Junction Saturday, Feb. 4.

Adam Eugene Coy, 31, of Grand Junction has been arrested and was booked into the Greene County jail at 10:38 am Sunday, Feb. 5. He is charged with attempted murder, willful injury causing serious injury, and domestic abuse.*

Coy’s arrest was the result of an investigation initiated Feb. 4. The Greene County communication center received a 9-1-1 call at 9:52 pm from 1002 E. Main St in Grand Junction. The caller reported she fell and hit her head against a door. When Grand Junction rescue arrived and assessed the scene, personnel advised the Greene County sheriff’s office the injury was possibly a gunshot wound.

The victim, whose name has not been released, is being treated for her injuries.

A press release from the sheriff’s office stated it was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
