Although nominations for the annual Bell Tower of Fame award can be submitted anytime, Friday, Feb. 17, at 4 pm is the deadline for any nominations for the 2023 award.
“The Bell Tower of Fame award was created as part of the original Bell Tower Festival and over the years we have recognized individuals from all parts of Greene County who have lived in Greene County at some time in their life, and whose professional or personal accomplishments internationally, nationally or statewide bring great pride to our county,” said award chair Carole Custer.
Nomination forms are available at the Welcome Center in downtown Jefferson or online at https://www.jeffersonmatters.org/bell-tower-of-fame-award-nomination-form/
Past nominations are kept on file and are reviewed by the selection committee, which consists of past Bell Tower of Festival chairs. “We encourage nominators to update their nominee’s form if new activities or awards are received that the committee needs to know when reviewing nominations each year,” Custer added.
The 2023 recipient will receive their award during opening ceremonies of the 2023 Bell Tower Festival in June and will be parade marshal in the festival parade.
