Ram grapplers go 2-1 in dual matches

The Rams wrestlers had two showings last week, with a Thursday duals match and a Saturday tournament. 

The Rams were scheduled to wrestle on Tuesday at Perry High School, Thursday at South Hamilton High School, and the Perry Invitational Tournament on Saturday. 

Greene County traveled to St. Edmond Catholic School on Thursday, facing three teams, winning two of their three duals. 

Against Ames, the Rams had their only loss of the evening, falling 51-28. Gavyn Winters, Jacob Harmeyer, McKinley Robbins, Brent Dennhardt and Jackson Turner each picked up wins for Greene County.

113 – Jacob Harmeyer won by fall over Oren Geisinger 3:55.

126 – Crew Conner lost by fall to Jabari Hinson 3:28.

132 – Dakota Mobley lost by fall to Kamden Windelow 1:36. 

138 – McKinley Robbins won by major decision over Cole Martin 20-6.

145 – Brent Dennhardt won by fall over Jacob Booth-Veale 2:45.

152 – Jackson Turner won by fall over Conrad Sutton 2:53. 

170 – Gavin Scheuermann lost by decision to Jackson Winkey 8-4. 

195 – Bork Ersnes lost by fall to Danarii Mickel 1:11.

220 – Marcus Ball lost by fall to Sebastian Molina 5:15. 

The Rams took the win over Iowa Falls-Alden, 57-17. Wins came from Winters, Harmeyer, Kale Petersen, Robbins, Dennhardt, Turner, Gavin Scheuermann, Bork Ersnes and Marcus Ball.

A second win came for the Rams against St. Edmond, going 36-24. Harmeyer, Crew Conner, Robbins, Dennhardt, Turner and Scheuermann were responsible for the Greene County points.

The Rams traveled to Atlantic High School on Saturday for the Rollin Dyer Invitational. As a team, Greene County took 12th place out of 17 teams. 

Kale Petersen and McKinley Robbins each took first place in their weight classes. Brent Dennhardt took third, with Gavyn Winters placing fifth and Jacob Harmeyer finishing sixth. Petersen was selected as the outstanding wrestler at the meet.
