Rippey Lions Club – The Rippey Lions Club will meet Thursday, Jan. 5, with a potluck meal at 6:30 pm followed by the program with Tanner Scheuermann, director of Greene County Conservation Board, sharing at 7:30 pm about “Spring Lake Park: Past and Present.” He will comment on the history of the park and the opportunity to enjoy the park now. The public is invited. Please call Nancy Hanaman, 515-436-7684, for any interested in sharing in the meal at 6:30 pm.

Library Happenings
Storytimes are Tuesdays at 4 pm with crafts all week. Jan. 10: Trains. Jan. 17: Martin Luther King Jr. Jan. 24: Gingerbread. Jan. 31: Get Well.
Teen programs are Wednesdays at 4 pm. Jan. 11: Board games. Jan. 18: Legos. Jan. 25: Escape Room.
Adult events are Thursdays at 3 pm. Jan. 5, Adults: Bingo for Books. Jan. 12: Coffee and treats. Jan. 12: Book discussion, Stephen King. Jan. 26: Potpourri.
Hanaman travels – Over the holidays, Dale and Nancy Hanaman visited with Matthew and Heather Hanaman in Eau Claire, WI, along with Adrianna and Adyara Hanaman from St. Paul, MN. They journeyed on to Superior, WI, to visit with Sarah and Benji Pearson and family and to celebrate Sarah’s birthday on Dec. 28.
Morse Christmas – Virgene Morse hosted Christmas Eve day guests including Kevin and Delores Blanshan, Kelsey Blanshan and the Eric Blanshan family. Everyone arrived safely even with the questionable weather and enjoyed a brisket lunch, reminiscing and gifting.
On Christmas Day Virgene and the Blanshan gang went to the home of Diane and Terry Ostendorf for a noon get-together. Joining the festivities were Ben Ostendorf, Sam and Michaela Van De Berg and Fisher, and Madelyn Ostendorf. They enjoyed a meal of soups and sides, checking on the animals, snacks, lots of laughs, snacks, photographs taken, more snacks and more gifting! The four generations were able to spend time together and make many holiday memories.
