Since 1997, the Friends of the Jefferson Public Library have honored an outstanding library volunteer.
This year, five honorees were chosen for their excellence in generating enthusiasm through their broadcasts and news reports promoting library events such as the many reading programs held throughout each year for children, teens and adults.
The Friends of the Jefferson Public Library have awarded Coltrane Carlson of Raccoon Valley Radio, Brandon Hurley of The Jefferson Bee & Herald, Andrew McGinn formerly of The Jefferson Bee & Herald, LuAnn Waldo of The Scranton Journal, and Victoria Riley of GreeneCountyNewsOnline as the Library’s “Friends of the Year” for 2022.
Each recipient was presented with a certificate, a gift from Fudge’s Flowers and Gifts, and a book purchased in their honor by the Friends, which will be added to the library collection.
“The local media is an important partner in relaying information and promoting events held and sponsored by the library,”a Friends spokesperson said. “These honorees have each made an outstanding contribution of time and dedicated reporting that conveys their professional and personal support for the Jefferson public library.”
