Visits with Santa, tree lighting Thursday at Thomas Jefferson Gardens

Seeing Santa is a great way to start the Christmas season for the younger set.  They can give Santa their lists (or even sit on his lap) Thursday, Dec. 1, starting at 5:30 pm at Thomas Jefferson Gardens, 201 E. Lincoln Way in Jefferson.  Visits with Santa will follow the ceremonial lighting of the trees on the north and west lawns of the gardens.  Those attending can also enjoy a cookie and warm Deals cider.

Another holiday tradition of Thomas Jefferson Gardens is the “tagging of the tree” with Christmas wishes.  Those participating can write name, phone number and a wish on the tag and tie on the north tree.  Tags need to be in place by Friday, Dec. 9.  Two tags will be pulled off and each will receive $25 in Chamber checks.

Letters to Santa may be placed in a mailbox set up outside Warm Wishes at 200 E. State St in Jefferson.
