There is a vacancy on the Scranton city council following the resignation of Dave Dideriksen. The Dideriksens have sold their Scranton home and purchased a house in Jefferson. They plan to move before Christmas. His resignation was effective following the Nov. 8 meeting.
The council plans to appoint someone to fill the seat at their Dec. 13 council meeting. That person will serve until the next city election in November of 2023. Residents have the right to call for a special election.
