Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Jefferson police department:
Wednesday, Nov. 30: Routine activity reported.
Tuesday, Nov. 29: At 12:06 pm an officer responded to a single vehicle accident on Highway 30 near Grimmell Rd. Eden Murphy of Jefferson was westbound on Highway 30 driving a 2004 International dump truck. Surface conditions caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle spun and tipped over onto its side. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000. *****As the result of an investigation that began 9/28, arrest warrants have been requested for Daniel Holinski, Grace Holinski and Luke Holinski, all of Jefferson on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.*

Saturday, Nov. 26: At 3:55 pm a traffic stop near N. Cedar St and Central Ave resulted in the arrest of Michael Jon Molle, 60, of Jefferson for operating while intoxicated*. He was also cited for operation without registration and fail to provide proof of financial liability.
Friday, Nov. 25: *****As the result of an investigation that started on Nov. 7, a juvenile has been charged with assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, harassment- first degree, and intimidation with a dangerous weapon*.
Thursday, Nov. 24: At 9:43 pm an officer was called to the 400 and 500 blocks of S. Locust St in regard to damage that had been done to yards by a vehicle the night prior. The officer is investigating. At 11:27 am an officer assisted a Greene County deputy with a domestic situation.
Wednesday, Nov. 23: At 8:38 am an officer responded to a vehicle collision at E. Lincoln Way and Cedar Street. Sandra Quam of Jefferson was eastbound on Lincoln Way driving a 2002 Toyota Avalon. Joann Laxson of Jefferson was northbound on Cedar St driving a 2002 Ford Windstar. Laxson failed to obey the stop sign at Cedar St and Lincoln Way and the vehicles collided within the intersection. Laxson was cited for failure to obey stop sign and failure to prove financial liability- accident related. Damage her vehicle was estimated at $1,000. Damage Quam’s vehicle was estimated at $3,000. At 5:56 pm an officer assisted a Greene County deputy with a vehicle collision at Highway 30 and Orchard Ave east of Jefferson.
Tuesday, Nov. 22: At 5:24 pm an officer was requested in Grand Junction to assist a sheriff’s office in responding to a domestic abuse call.
Monday, Nov. 21: At 5:16 pm an officer responded to a car-deer accident near S. Elm and W. Vest St. Shelly Reed of Jefferson was southbound on Elm when she struck a deer with her 2022 Hyundai. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $500. *****An officer made an arrest in a sex abuse case opened recently. Olvin R. Aguilar Flores, 32, of Jefferson has been charged with two counts of continuous sex abuse of a child (Class B felony)*.
Sunday, Nov. 20: At 2:08 aman officer performed a traffic stop with a driver who failed to stop at the posted stop sign at Lincoln Way and Elm Sts. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Tearra Ann Ellis Hall, 24, of Rutland for operating while intoxicated (serious misemeanor)*. She was also cited for open container- driver and fail to provide proof of financial liability. At 7:56 am a complainant reported a stray dog at her residence in the 1100 block of S. Elm St. The dog was placed in the animal holding facility. At 12:56 pm an officer involved DHS in a reported case of sex assault to children in Jefferson. The officer will continue to work with DHS on the investigation. At 8:07 pm staff at Breadeaux Pizza reported the business had received more than 20 harassing phone calls during the evening. The phone number was provided to the officer, who is investigating.
Saturday, Nov. 19: At 5:46 am a complainant reported a single-vehicle accident on S. Grimmell Rd at the river bridge. Officers arrived and located the 18-year-old driver inside the vehicle with serious injuries. It appeared the accident had occurred several hours earlier. The subject was transported to ER by the Greene County Ambulance and later taken by helicopter to a Des Moines hospital. The vehicle involved, a 2007 Chevrolet K3500 pickup truck owned by Michael Happe of Grand Junction, was a total loss. The accident remains under investigation. At 3:38 pm an officer located three very young children in a vehicle parked at HyVee. As the officer spoke to the young children, their mother came out of the business. The officer spoke with the mother about the issues with leaving children of that age alone in a vehicle. The incident was reported to DHS by the officer. At 11:09 pm a complainant requested officers at a residence in the 800 block of W. State St for an assault in progress between a female and her adult son. The officers arrived and located the male running from the residence. The officer gave chase in the patrol vehicle, but lost sight of the male. The officer’s investigation led to requesting arrest warrants for Allyn James Case, 35, of Jefferson for burglary- first degree (B felony), two counts of assault- serious misdemeanor), and two counts of trespass (simple misdemeanor)*.
Friday, Nov. 18: At 6:47 am An officer responded to a car-deer accident in the 1200 block of S. Elm St. Diane Gibson of Jefferson struck a deer as she was driving her 2020 Ford Escape. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000. At 11:01 am a complainant reported a theft from his vehicle while it was parked in the 400 block of S. Olive St. The complainant reported missing several hand construction tools, clothing, and prescription medications. The total amount of loss is more than $500. The officer is investigating. At 6:13 pm officers were called to a residence in the 300 block of E. Harrison St for a reported domestic argument. The officers arrived and met with the couple. The officers located injuries on the female that were consistent with her reported events. Anthony Joseph Nunez, 55, of Jefferson, was arrested for domestic abuse assault (serious misdemeanor)*. At 8:51 pm staff at HyVee reported a possible theft from the business. Staff will get the surveillance video of the event for the officer. The investigation continues.
Thursday, Nov. 17: At 11:43 am a complainant reported a suspected identity theft. The officer is investigating. At 4:57 pm an anonymous caller reported animal neglect possibly occurring at a residence in the 300 block of S. Wilson Ave. The officer is investigating.
Wednesday, Nov. 16: *****After the completion of an investigation started on 10/29, an officer has charged two juveniles with possession of alcohol by person under age 21.
Tuesday, Nov. 15: At 12:33 am an officer was advised of a subject looking at items in a dumpster in the 100 block of W. State St. The officer spoke to the subject and warned them about trespassing. At 8:16 am an officer was advised a subject going through trash bins at a business in the 600 block of Highway 30 East. The officer did not locate the subject. At 9:43 am an officer was advised of a subject at HyVee who was possibly intoxicated. The officer’s investigation resulted in the arrest of Katie Luth of Farnhamville for public intoxication*. At 11:43 am an officer was advised of a harassment situation taking place between two juveniles. The officer provided advice and is investigating the situation. At 12:13 pm an officer was called to Greene County High School regarding two students who had vape products. The officer subsequently cited two students for person under age 21 using tobacco/vapor product. At 4:01 pm an officer was advised of a theft at Casey’s. The officer is investigating. At 5:34 pm an officer responded to a single vehicle collision on the overpass on N. Elm St. Brian Markins of Jefferson was northbound driving his 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. He lost control of the vehicle due to the slick road surface and collided with the guard rail. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $8,000. At 5:52 pm an officer responded to a similar collision on the overpass. Ethan Frederick of Jefferson was southbound on the overpass driving his 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck. He lost control of the vehicle due to the slick road surface and collided with the guard rail. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000. At 9:39 pm an officer responded to Scranton to assist a Greene County deputy with an arrest.
Monday, Nov. 14: At 11:48 am a complainant advised of a loose dog near S. Elm and Ram Dr. The officer placed the dog in the animal holding facility.
Sunday, Nov. 13: At 7:43 pmofficers assisted a motorist whose dog had locked them out of their vehicle Dollar General.

Friday, Nov. 11: At 2:36 pm an officer was called to the 1200 block of W. Lincoln Way in regard to a deceased deer on private property. The officer contacted the DNR to grant the property owner permission to move it. ***** As the result of an investigation that started on 8/23, Jessie Sanders and Avery Madison, both of Jefferson, have each been charged with possession of marijuana (serious misdemeanor) and possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor)*. Arrest warrants were requested.
Thursday, Nov. 10: At 7:35 pm an officer was advised of a dog running at large in the 400 block of S. Locust St. The officer transported the dog to the animal holding facility. At 9:56 pm an officer was advised of a dog running at large in the 600 block of N. Vine St. The officer transported the dog to the animal holding facility. At 10:15 pm a traffic stop at Oak St and W. Lincoln Way resulted in Douglas Fulton of Jefferson being arrested for operating while intoxicated*. He was also cited for operating an unregistered vehicle, fail to provide proof of financial liability, and driving while license suspended.
Wednesday, Nov. 9: At 11:24 am staff at Peoples Bank reported a possible scam at the bank. A local subject deposited a check for a large sum of money and then made transfers to others and business. The check was not good. The officer is investigating. At 8:33 pm a traffic stop at Vine St and W. Lincoln Way resulted in Travis Crichton of Arnolds Park being cited for driving while license suspended. During the stop, the officer could smell the odor of marijuana and performed a probable cause search of the vehicle. A smoking device and suspected marijuana were seized for testing. Charges are pending lab results.
Tuesday, Nov. 8: At 5:46 am an officer was dispatched to the intersection of Highway 4 and 250th St for a report of a driver having struck a deer. Krysty Melton of Guthrie Center was northbound driving a 2012 Kia Telluride when she struck a deer that had just been struck by a southbound semi tractor-trailer, pushing it into the northbound lane. Damage to Melton’s vehicle was estimated at $2,500. At 7:15 pm Greene County dispatch received multiple calls reporting loud explosions near the 1200 block of S. Grimmell Rd. The officer found the source of the sound was persons firing large fireworks.
Monday, Nov. 7: At 11:20 am a complainant reported harassment occurring to her juvenile son from a known female juvenile. It was reported that the female juvenile had pointed a gun at her son while he was at the female’s residence. The officer is investigating. At 6:58 pm the sheriff’s office requested an officer to cover a car-deer accident on Highway 30 and R Ave east of Jefferson. Bayllie Flynn of Grand Junction was operating a 2018 Ford Explorer owned by Harrison Johnston of Grand Junction when she struck a deer in the roadway. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,500. At 7:12 pm the Norwalk PD requested an officer to go to a residence in the 100 block of S. Walnut St and pick up a juvenile missing from their city. The officer picked up the juvenile, who was picked up by parents at the LEC.

Saturday, Nov. 5: At 11:45 am a complainant reported a piece of rebar sticking up from the concrete at the Grimmell Rd RR crossing. Union Pacific was contacted to make repairs. At 6:50 pm a resident reported receiving a text message from a suicidal subject. The officer learned the subject lives in the county and forwarded the information to the sheriff’s office. At 7:45 pm security staff at Wild Rose Casino requested an officer for an intoxicated subject. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Colton Patrick Bishop, 26, of Des Moines for public intoxication (simple misdemeanor)*. At 9:16 pm a complainant reported her vehicle was missing from Greene County High School. She had attended a play at the school and had parked her vehicle beside another one which was very similar to hers. That vehicle was still present. The officer determined the subject had indeed taken the wrong vehicle home and it was present at her residence. She brought the vehicle back to the school and the switch was made.
Friday, Nov. 4: At 4:02 pm a complainant reported she loaned her 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer to a friend on 11/02. She advised the friend was at Sparky’s One-Stop and the vehicle suffered damage. The other vehicle left the area. The officer is working to investigate the matter. The vehicle suffered a reported $1,000 in damages. At 5 pm a complainant reported a hit and run accident that had occurred in the 600 block of W. Lincoln Way. The 2003 Ford F350, which is owned by Chad Stevens of Jefferson, had a reported $1,000 in damages. The officer is investigating.
Thursday, Nov. 3: At 8:15 am a complainant reported he believed he had been scammed by a female online. He advised he had been chatting with the female, who began asking for money to come to Jefferson and meet him. He electronically sent $450 to the female. He was advised to end contact with the subject and change his banking information. At 11:07 am a complainant reported two horses loose in the area of 250th and S. Elm Sts. The officer learned the horses belonged to a subject out in the county and the subject was contacted by phone. At 6:11 pm a complainant reported three juveniles climbing on the fence of the overpass on N. Elm St. The officer located the three juveniles in the area and spoke to them about the dangers of their behavior. Ay 6:38 pm a complainant reported her daughter’s backpack was lost/stolen at Russell Park. The bag contained a Chromebook, which belongs to the school.
Wednesday, Nov. 2: At 9:13 am an officer was called to the 100 block of W. Washington St in regards to an ongoing harassment. The officer is investigating. At 11:26 am an officer was advised of a subject walking on railroad property near the Maple St crossing. The officer warned the subject about trespassing on railroad property.
Tuesday, Nov. 1: At 8:21 pm an officer was called to the 200 block of S. West St in regards to a stray cat. The cat was transported to the animal holding facility. At 8:47 pm an officer arrested Julie Mulder of Jefferson on a Greene County arrest warrant*.
