Grand Junction Solar, LLC, is hosting an open house Monday, Nov. 21, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Grand Junction Community Center.
The new zoning ordinance for utility-size solar energy projects adopted last month by the Greene County board of supervisors requires that before a developer can apply for a conditional use permit from the Greene County board of adjustment, an open house must be held for landowners within 1,000 feet of the project’s boundaries.
At the open house, Grand Junction Solar representatives will share details about the project and answer an questions.
The Grand Junction Solar project is a 100-megawatt solar project with an option for battery storage. The area under development is located approximately 0.5 mile south of Grand Junction. The project would interconnect to the transmission grid via a new substation that would tie-in to the existing substation at 240th St and Highway 144 (U Ave).
