The Jefferson Garden Club will again host its popular holiday tour of homes event on Saturday, Dec. 3, from noon to 4 pm. Four homes, decorated to showcase this year’s theme “All Hearts Come Home for Christmas”, will be featured.
Tickets can be purchased from Garden Club members and at The Printer’s Box, Heartland Bank, Home State Bank and Peoples Bank, all in Jefferson.
This year’s tour includes a unique mix of homes from new construction to renovated and historic structures. One home is in Jefferson’s newest neighborhood, another recent renovation in the heart of the original community, a modern prairie inspired ranch on the edge of beautiful woods and a notable historic home with charming character.
The 2022 homes are:
Marianne and Roger Carlson homeis a 2021 remodel of mid-century modern built in 1955 which features a dream kitchen and a stunning view of the woods. “Food, family and fun” characterizes the Carlsons’ holiday theme.
Becci and Bob Hamilton’s modern prairie-style home is framed by woods and the view can be enjoyed throughout the home built in 2000. Bountiful fresh greens, a collection of treasured nutcrackers and winter art creates a perfect holiday setting for family and friends.
Ginny and Lyn Showman’s 102-year-old Craftsman brick will be decked out with collections of Santas and cookie jars. Unique holiday themes are used in each bedroom and a tree of memories will delight their grandchildren especially.
Miranda and Mike Wahl’s newly built home is ready to host family and entertain in the spacious kitchen, expansive living room, unique upstairs loft for their children and a delightful Grinch-themed lower level with separate theater room.
On the day of the tour, tickets can also be purchased at the Welcome Center in Thomas Jefferson Gardens at 201 E. Lincoln Way where the Garden Club will offer refreshments. Proceeds from the event are used for community betterment and beautification projects including the Memorial Garden along the Raccoon River Trail.
