24th annual Rotary Charity Dinner, Auction is Nov. 18

The annual Jefferson Rotary Charity Dinner and Auction will again offer the best of both worlds, an in-person evening of dinner, fun and a live auction on Friday, Nov. 18, at the Greene Room of the Wild Rose Casino, along with an online auction, all to raise funds for worthwhile projects.

“Our blended format, with both a live, in-person auction and online auction, was so successful last year we’re doing the same this year,” said Tori Riley, past president and auction chair. “We’ll have a delicious dinner, a lively auction and a lot of fun for those who attend in person, and many unique items in an easy-to-use online format accessible to anyone, anywhere.”

Tickets for individuals, couples or even a whole table are now available for the dinner that includes appetizers, both prime rib and a chicken entrée, and complimentary wine. The auctioneering will begin with a live auction of desserts, with all proceeds designated for college scholarships. Tickets can be purchased at www.32auctions.com/JeffersonRotary2022

Social hour will begin at 5:30 pm, with dinner served at 6:30 pm.

Dave Whitaker will provide professional auctioneering services.

From Saturday, Nov.12, to Friday, Nov. 18, bidders can go online to bid on silent auction packages and an array of items.

The auction is posted at www.32auctions.com/JeffersonRotary2022. Items are being added daily.

Some of the early items listed on the auction include tickets to The Beach Boys Christmas concert Dec. 15 at the Des Moines Civic Center; tickets to Iowa State men’s basketball vs Baylor Dec. 31; tickets to “Lion King” at the Civic Center in April; and dinner for eight at The Centennial.

For movie lovers, Chuck Offenburger and Mary Riche will serve an early supper at their home at the new Wilson Avenue Suites and then treat the high bidder to a movie and concessions at the Sierra Theatre. There will also be a Golden Ticket, good for admission for one at the Sierra for an entire year.

For those who prefer a mini-vacation, there are lodging packages at an Arnold’s Park condo, the cabins at Spring Lake, and lodging at White Rock Conservancy. There are play-and-stay packages from the Wild Rose properties in Jefferson, Emmetsburg and Clinton, too.

The auction will also include sports memorabilia, like Zach Johnson and Mr Basketball displays from The Iowa Hall of Pride, tickets to athletic events,  home improvement items, home décor, gift baskets, tickets to many sporting events and much more!

In its 23 years, the Rotary Charity Auction has raised more than $650,000 for worthwhile causes in Greene County and, through the Rotary International Foundation, across the globe.
