Greene County ISU Extension and Outreach and Iowa Corn Growers Association, Greene County will host a two-night farm succession workshop.
The program will be Monday, Nov. 28, and Tuesday, Nov. 29, from 6 to 9 pm at the Greene County Extension office. Registration fee is $50 per person or $175 for a family of four. This covers light meals at 5:30 pm each night. Persons who want to register for the program can call the Extension and Outreach office in Jefferson, 515-386-2138. Space is limited and registration deadline is Nov. 21.
This program is designed to provide participants with an overview of farm succession planning. Topics include estate planning, setting goals, implementing your plan, gift and estate taxes, and having “the family conversation”. This workshop will provide resources participants can use for future planning.
Speakers include Alexis Stevens, Iowa State University Farm Management specialist in west central Iowa; and a local attorney at Hoyt, Morain, and Homer Law Firm PC.
