The Greene County cross country teams ran at the Leon Fox Invitational Sept. 29 at the Perry Golf and Country Club.
The boys placed fifth of 10 teams and the girls placed ninth of 10 teams.
“This meet attracts some of the best teams in the area,” coach Jeff Lamoureux said. “I like the way we continue to compete against traditionally strong teams. I’m really proud of this team and the effort they give each and every meet.”
Noah Hinote was the first across the finish line in the boys race with a time of 18:58, good for 22 place. Other finishes were Gavyn Winters, 26th place in 19:10; Ethan Frederick in 31st in 19:18; Kolby Angell, 36th in 20:03; Mylo Taute in 58st in 21:1; Bork Ersnes in 91st with a time of 21:37; Jayden Koller in 118th in 23:49; and Teagan Chisholm, 131st in 24:48.
Olivia Shannon again paced the Rams in the girls race, finishing 31st with a time of 23:05. Autumn Stevens placed 48th in 24:43, followed by Ava Minnehan in 50th place in 25:21, Ava Jablonski in 57th place in 27:22, and Leah McCormick in 60th place in 30:22.
Ballard won the girls meet with 36 points. Other team scores were ADM 37, Des Moines Christian 63, Bondurant-Farrar 135, Winterset 136, Roland-Story 161, Perry 211, Saydel 242, Greene County 246, and Des Moines North 279. Boone did not have enough runners for a team score.
The Rams’ next meet is Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Lake City.
