“Enjoying a unique dinner at The Centennial, Jefferson’s newest restaurant, and ‘doing good’ at the same time is the best,” said P.E.O. chapter CZ president Jean Van Gilder.
“Dinner with a Purpose” hosted by chapter CZ is exactly that. “We’re planning an especially delicious meal as a fundraiser instead of our wildly popular annual salad luncheon and supporting a local business at the same time,” Van Gilder said.
The P.E.O. spring salad luncheon was the major fundraising project for Chapter CZ for more than 25 years but the time has come to switch things up. “So many people enjoyed the salad luncheon and the proceeds benefitted so many.”
“Dinner with a Purpose” will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, with 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm seatings. Tickets must be purchased in advance from Chapter CZ members or at The Centennial at a cost of $50 each.
The meal will feature Parmesan herb crusted pork loin, The Centennial house salad & fresh bread, garlic Yukon Gold whipped potatoes, seasoned roasted vegetables, and mini dessert selection buffet, all created by chef Sara Ostrander.
Those purchasing tickets may choose their seating time (as long as there is room) and preference of two or four person tables. Couples wishing to be seated together need to notify the member of their choice.
Proceeds from the event benefit scholarships for local women returning to complete their education, and other local projects receiving support including the ARC food pantry, Adopt-a-Family, the Greene County alternative high school, Ram Readers literacy program, PC Early Learning Center and The Children’s Center, along with Cottey College, the P.E.O. International-owned women’s college; and a number of other P.E.O. scholarships for women.
