Ashley Squibb was sworn in as a member of the Scranton city council at the Aug. 16 meeting. Squibb fills a vacancy and will serve until the November 2023 election.
The council set the fall clean up for Sept. 24 from 6 to 8 am. The budget amendment was approved.
Dawn Rudolph reported on the Community Center. She advised the rental rates have been increased to cover the additional costs that have been passed on to the center due to inflation. They have also added a custodial and staff fee. The gym entrance construction will be starting soon.
Karen Gillman discussed a town party she wants to host, explaining her plans. Bradley Beadle informed city officials of the plans for his property.
Chad Kirk reported for the public works department. They are waiting on parts for the dehumidifier repairs. They plan to repair the underground leaks detected by the Leak Detection Company.
Hydrants will be flushed the first week of September. Ash trees are being reviewed and plans formatted for removal. The council approved the purchase of a D.O. meter.
The sale of fencing to Clayton Dudley was approved at a cost of $200.
