Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:

Sunday, July 31: Routine activity reported.

Saturday, July 30: At 12:56 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 700 block of D Ave in Kendrick Township. At 6:49 pm a deputy assisted with a cow out in the 1100 block of 190th St in Bristol Township.

Friday, July 29: At 6:04 am the sheriff and deputies assisted the Jefferson PD with a search warrant in the 700 block of N. Cedar St in Jefferson. At 9:06 am a deputy investigated an assault in the 400 block of E. Paton St in Paton.

Thursday, July 28: At 10:47 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on U Avenue and 295th St in Washington Township.

Wednesday, July 27: At 7:21 am a deputy assisted with a cow out on J Avenue near 280th St in Greenbrier Township. At 7:44 pm a deputy assisted with a cow out on J Avenue near 290th St in Greenbrier Township.

Tuesday, July 26: At 12:11 pm the sheriff and deputies investigated an assault in the 1000 block of E. Railroad St in Grand Junction. Douglas Shutt, 61, of Grand Junction was arrested on two arrest warrants for probation violation*.

Monday, July 25: At 11:03 am a deputy assisted staff at Greene County Medical Center with locating a family member of a patient. At 11:07 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 1900 block of 130th St in Paton Township. At 3:21 pm a deputy investigated a report of a missing person in the 2300 block of 290th St in Washington Township. At 6:17 pm a deputy investigated a violation of a no contact order in the 1900 block of 130th St.

Sunday, July 24: At 1:12 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a car on the bike trail near 260th St south of Jefferson. At 7:03 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of domestic assault in the 200 block of Cartwright St in Rippey.

Saturday July 23: At 11:30 am a deputy and Grand Junction fire responded to a reported structure fire in the 400 block of S. 12th St in Grand Junction. An outdoor light fixture had caught fire and was extinguished. At 11:33 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 2100 block of U Ave in Washington Township. At 3:05 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of fraud in the 500 block of Bell St in Churdan. At 8:57 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 600 block of Jay St in Churdan. At 11:17 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 900 block of Cedar St in Scranton.

Friday, July 22: At 6:17 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of fraud in the 300 block of W. Hager St in Grand Junction. At 7:50 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of kids riding a lawn mower on I Ave.

Wednesday, July 20: At 11:07 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 500 block of N. 16th St in Grand Junction.

Tuesday, July 19: At 1:35 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD in responding to a female damaging property in the 700 block of N. Cedar St. At 3:15 pm a deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on Highway 30 at Kirkwood Ave west of Jefferson. Ronnie Kraft, 55, of Yetter was operating his 2009 Kawasaki 900 motorcycle when a tire blew out, causing the motorcycle to enter the ditch. Kraft was not injured. Damage to the motorcycle was estimated at $100. Kraft was cited for failure to have a driver’s license. At 3:31 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 100 block of W. Percival St in Rippey. At 5:17 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 100 block of S. Eckstein St in Dana.

Monday, July 18: At 7:23 pm a deputy investigated violation of a no contact order in the 1900 block of 130th St in Paton Township.

Sunday, July 17: At 7:43 am a deputy, Churdan fire, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a vehicle fire on 100th St near Falcon Ave in Cedar Township. The vehicle was unoccupied and abandoned. The vehicle was a total loss and has not been able to be identified. At 12:45 pm the sheriff, a deputy, and a Iowa State trooper responded to the 1000 block of E. Railroad St in Grand Junction for a male subject yelling and swinging a sword. Richard Keller, 41, of Grand Junction was arrested for theft- fifth degree, burglary- third degree, possession of a controlled substance- third or subsequent offense, and carrying a dangerous weapon*.  At 3:13 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of persons riding dirt bikes at Spring Lake.

Saturday, July 16: At 8:05 am a deputy investigated a power line down in the 1400 block of 120th St in Dawson Township. At 11:25 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 300 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.

Friday, July 15: At 2:08 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 600 block of S. 15th St in Grand Junction. At 1:34 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 400 block of Madison St in Scranton. At 3:04 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 600 block of Brentwood Ave in Cedar Township. At 7:35 pm a deputy investigated a violation of a no contact order in the 2200 block of 120th St in Paton Township. At 7:53 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1000 block of Irving St in Scranton.

Thursday, July 14: At 1:27 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1900 block of 130th St in Paton Township. At 5:26 pm a deputy responded to a two-vehicle accident at W. Adams and N. Pinet Sts in Jefferson. The Jefferson PD investigated the accident. At 6:30 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 400 block of Main St in Scranton. At 9:05 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 1200 block of X Ave in Junction Township.

Wednesday, July 13: At 8:15 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 700 block of Walnut St in Scranton. At 11:45 am a deputy investigated a violation of the sex offender registry in the 100 block of W. Percival St in Rippey. At 1:39 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault in the 700 block of 11th St in Grand Junction. Madison Meyers, 18, of Grand Junction was arrested for possession of alcohol under age*. At 3:42 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 600 block of S. 15th St in Grand Junction. At 4:18 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 700 block of Locust St in Scranton. At 8:33 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on S Ave near 170th St in Hardin Township. Kasha Lansman, 19, of Grand Junction struck a deer with a 2019 Ford Escape. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,500. At 10:33 pm a deputy assisted the Ottumwa PD with the investigation of a sex assault. At 11:07 pm a deputy investigated the violation of a no contact order in the 1900 block of 130th St in Paton Township.

Tuesday, July 12: At 3:20 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog in the 500 block of S. 9th St in Grand Junction. At 5:12 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault in the 1400 block of U Ave in Grand Junction. Amy Tasler, 42, of Grand Junction was arrested for domestic abuse assault causing injury*. At 7:33 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1200 block of B Ave in Kendrick Township.

Monday, July 11: At 4:27 am the sheriff and Grand Junction Fire responded to campers trapped after a tree fell on their camper. At 4:40 am the Sheriff, deputies, and all fire departments responded to several power lines down. At 7:33 am a deputy assisted with cattle out on Highway 4 and 330th St in Franklin Township. At 9:46 am a deputy investigated a missing street sign at Wilkens and Head Sts in Churdan. At 1:05 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on A Ave and 270th St in Scranton Township. At 5:06 pm a deputy assisted the Webster County sheriff’s office with locating a subject on X Ave. At 7:14 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 400 block of Madison St in Scranton. At 7:17 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 100 block of E. Hager St in Grand Junction. At 7:25 pm a deputy investigated a dog bite in the 900 block of Sand St in Churdan.

Sunday, July 10: At 12:15 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a complaint of trespass at Wild Rose Casino. At 5:59 am a deputy assisted with cattle out on Highway 4 near 252nd St south of Jefferson. At 8:28 am a deputy assisted with cattle out on W Ave near 230th St east of Grand Junction. At 3:10 pm a deputy and the Jefferson fire department responded to a car fire on Highway 4 near 190th St north of Jefferson The 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse was a total loss. At 3:31 pm a deputy investigated a child in the roadway on 290th St near Rippey. At 5:05 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on 330th St and B Ave in Willow Township.

Saturday, July 9: At 9:17 am a deputy assisted with a horse out on 325th St near Y Ave in Washington Township. At 12:22 pm a deputy removed debris from the roadway in the 2300 block of U Ave in Washington Township. At 6:32 pm a deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on Orchard Ave and 310th St in Franklin Township. Stacy Lappegard, 46, of Cooper was southbound on Orchard Ave driving a 2021 Ford F150 pickup truck when she missed the “T” intersection and 310th St and the vehicle struck the ditch embankment. She was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the pickup truck was estimated at $10,000.

Friday, July 8: At 5:28 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 300 block of S. 9th St in Grand Junction. At 7:57 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on 255th St near R Ave in Grant Township. At 8:55 pm a deputy assisted with a horse out on 325th St near Y Ave in Washington Township.

Thursday, July 7: At 9:20 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 600 block of N. 9th St in Grand Junction. At 9:27 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 800 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.

Wednesday, July 6: At 8:15 am a deputy investigated a criminal mischief complaint at the Scranton city park. At 7:11 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 400 block of Paton St in Paton.

Tuesday, July 5: At 6:58 am a deputy, Jefferson PD, Jefferson fire, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a garage fire in the 900 block of S. Elm St in Jefferson. The fire was caused by an electrical short in the wiring. At 1:19 pm a deputy unlocked a car that had a child in it in the 1300 block of K Ave in Bristol Township.

Monday, July 4: At 3 pm a deputy picked up two dogs running at large near the 1800 block of 277th St in Grant Township. Both dogs were taken to the pound. At 7:57 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of an ATV being driven recklessly on U Ave near Rippey. At 9:12 pm a deputy investigated a violation of a no contact order in the 700 block of Walnut St in Scranton. At 11:40 pm a deputy investigated a vehicle in the ditch on S Ave near 170th St in Hardin Township. Coltyn Steed, 21, of Arkansas, driver of the vehicle, was arrested for operating while under the influence*. The vehicle was not damaged.

Sunday, July 3: At 11:41 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 2300 block of Quest Ave in Franklin Township. At 2:12 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in the 200 block of N. Dana St in Dana. At 9:26 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on I Ave and 330th St in Greenbrier Township.

Saturday, July 2: At 8:11 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30 at S Ave west of Grand Junction. Joyce Rutherford, 65, of Grand Junction struck a deer with a Jeep Liberty, causing an estimated $4,000 damage to the vehicle. At 1:13 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30 near Hillcrest Ave west of Jefferson. Timothy Bell, 68, of Westside struck a deer with a 1997 Lincoln Town Car. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $7,000.
