Incentive grant to Midwest Behavioral Health

A new business in Jefferson was awarded a $5,000 Jefferson Wants You incentive grant for start-up costs.  Megan Ball opened Midwest Behavioral Health in May of 2022.  Ball explains, “This is a substance use disorder treatment center that can treat dual diagnosis with mental health secondary.”

Currently two fulltime positions are filled but Ball looks to add more fulltime and part-time positions in the future. Mackenzie Juergensen is another counselor.

Midwest Behavioral Health supports rehabilitation with life skills for those in need of substance recovery, further education and support back into the working class. The office is located at 102 N Wilson in downtown Jefferson.

The Jefferson Wants You incentive fund was created as a part of the Rural Return Grant received as part of the Empower Rural Iowa Initiative.  A number of local utilities, financial institutions and a grant from Grow Greene County have provided the funding for this incentive fund with a local committee making the selection.

New start-up businesses in Jefferson and remote workers in Greene County are eligible to apply for the Jefferson Wants You incentive fund.  Find the applications are www.experiencejeffersoniowa.com under the Move Here tab.
