Greene County district court, week ending May 20

In Greene County district court Anthony Robert Booth, 30, of Perry was sentenced May 18 to five years in prison after he changed his plea to burglary- third degree. He was sentenced to two years after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of criminal mischief- third degree. The prison terms are concurrent; both were suspended and he was placed on probation to the Department of Corrections for three years. He shall reside at a residential correctional facility until maximum benefits are attained. He was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge on the burglary charge, and $855 with a $128.25 surcharge on the criminal mischief charge; the fines and surcharges were suspended. Booth must pay $1,000 victim restitution. Charges of theft- second degree and criminal mischief were dismissed. The court ruled he is unable to pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

David A. Tibben, 36, of Scranton was sentenced May 16 to one year in jail, with time served, after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. All but 40 days of the jail term was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Department of Corrections for two years. Tibben was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge. He must pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees not to exceed $1,200. Court costs were $165.46. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Marlene Eleanor Anderson, 52, of Jefferson was sentenced to 20 days in jail with credit for time served after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. She was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. Anderson must pay an amount not to exceed $600 for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. Karl Maurice Krieger, 29, of Jefferson pleaded not guilty to charges of operating while intoxicated- second offense and possession of marijuana- second offense. A trial date was set for July 19.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Ryan Joseph Murphy, 41, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine- third or subsequent offense; Zachery Allen Waters, 25, of Jefferson, attempted murder, dominion/control of firearm/offense weapon by domestic abuser, burglary- third degree, use of dangerous weapon in commission of a crime, operate vehicle without owner’s consent, eluding- speed over 25 mph over the limit, and assault while display dangerous weapon, and in a separate case, going armed with intent and possession of marijuana.
