In Greene County district court George Joseph Glasgow, 52, of Grand Junction was sentenced May 4 to one year in jail, with all but 10 days suspended, after he pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic abuse assault- second offense, amended from domestic abuse assault- third or subsequent offense. He was placed on probation to the DOCS for two years, and he must complete a batterers education program. He was fined $625 with a $93.75 surcharge. He must pay $1,200 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $1263.55 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Richard German Rosado Davis, 35, of Spencer was sentenced to 10 days in jail with credit for time served after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. He may serve the jail time in Greene County or Clay County. If he serves the time in Clay County he may participate in work release, and he may complete 40 hours of community service in lieu of five days of jail time. The community service must be completed before he serves jail time. Rosado Davis was fined $855 with a $128.50 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay $200 court costs. James Kiefer Eberle, 28, of Dana was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of domestic abuse assault impeding blood/air flow causing bodily injury. He was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services (DOCS) for two years, and he must complete a batterers education program. A judgment was entered for a $1,025 civil penalty, a $90 domestic abuse surcharge and $1,100 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. A judgment was entered May 5 for a $250 fine with a $37.50 surcharge against Luke Wesley Craig Skalla, 32, of Bayard after he pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while license suspended, amended from operating commercial vehicle without a commercial drivers license. Rick Eugene Tuhn, 61, of Grand Junction was sentenced to 11 days in jail with credit for time served after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge. He must pay $600 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $209.50 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Zachery Allen Waters Rice, 25, of Jefferson was sentenced to two years in prison with credit for time served after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of credit card fraud. The prison term is concurrent to a term in a Humboldt County case but consecutive to a term in another Greene County case. Waters was placed on probation for two years to the Iowa DOCS for two years. He must complete the program at a residential correctional facility until maximum benefits are attained. He must also undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Waters was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. Peyton Michael Paddock, 24, of Jefferson was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with all but two days suspended, after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. He may complete the Des Moines Area Community College 48-hour alcohol education program in lieu of serving time in jail. He was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Paddock was fined $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge; one-half the fine and surcharge were waived as he has already obtained a temporary restricted license. Court costs were $209.50 A charge against Paddock in magistrate court of public intoxication was dismissed. Court costs in that case were $60.
Mitchell Kenneth Venteicher, 37, of Jefferson was sentenced to 10 days in jail with credit for time served after he pleaded guilty at arraignment to a charge of driving while license barred. The jail time is consecutive to the sentence in another Greene County case Venteicher was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; the fine and surcharge were suspended. Court costs were $100. Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Dustin Evans, 39, of Jefferson, sex offender registry violation – second or subsequent offense habitual offender, and child endangerment by registered sex offense (two counts); Michael Shane Miller, 51, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana and conspiracy to manufacture/deliver marijuana not more than 50 kg; Michael Keith Thompson, 34, of Jefferson, driving while license revoked; Kimberly Ann Conner, 62, of Jefferson, dependent adult abuse-exploitation greater than $100 (49 counts), ongoing criminal conduct and theft- first degree; Ryan Joseph Murphy, 41, of Jefferson, willful injury causing bodily injury; Cierra Catherine Wright, 21, of Waukee, possession of marijuana; and Katherine Elizabeth Wells, 33, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness. Trial dates were set for July 19 all defendants except Murphy. Murphy’s trial date was set for June 7.
