The Greene County boys soccer team picked up one win and one loss last week.
The April 26 match was against the Perry Bluejays. The Rams were down 4-0 in the first half of the game, but were able to make a bit of a comeback in the second half, ultimately losing 4-2.
Jose Velazco scored both goals for the Rams, with an assist by Mylo Taute. Goalie Gabe Ebersole had seven saves for the night.
Friday’s game brought a 9-0 win for the Rams against Kuemper Catholic. Gesser Gutierres and Brenner Gallagher each had three goals, with Jose Velazco adding two and Jack Hansen with one. The Knights only shot at the goal seven times, Ebersole rejecting each one.
The Rams were scheduled to play at PCM High School on Monday, with a tournament on Saturday in Nevada where they are scheduled to face Nevada, Gilbert and Collins-Maxwell.
The Greene County girls soccer team also had two matches last week, both resulting in losses.
On April 25, the Rams traveled to Logan-Magnolia to face the Panthers, suffering a 4-1 loss. Katrina Heupel scored the lone goal for the Rams, while Madison Kinsey had 12 saves as the goalie.
The Rams visited Perry’s home turf on Tuesday, where they lost 1-0. Kinsey had 13 more saves for the Rams.
Greene County girls soccer was scheduled for two games this week, with one on Thursday at Kuemper Catholic and the second at Creston on Saturday.
