Greene County district court, week ending April 29

In Greene County district court Brian James Knudson, 52, of Manilla was sentenced to 60 days in jail, with all but two suspended, after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine. Has placed on probation to Boone/Greene County probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Knudson was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. Court costs were $100. A related charge in magistrate court of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. Jesse Dean Hermansen, 32, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct, amended from domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness. He was placed on informal probation to the Greene County sheriff for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He must pay a $105 civil penalty. Court costs were $231.50. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Hope Rebecca Malone, 42, of Jefferson was sentenced to two days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. The jail sentence was suspended. She must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense. Malone was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. Court costs were $200. A related case in magistrate court in which she was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Oliver W. Peyton, 49, of Newark, NJ, pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness. A trial date was set for July 19.
