About 65 persons attended the first in a series of town hall meetings hosted by Greene County Development Corporation to provide an overview of the Diversity Project, now named Nueva Vida en Greene County, or New Life in Greene County. The meeting was held at Clover Hall in Jefferson.
Several more people attended a meeting later in the evening in Rippey.
The goal of Neuva Vida en Greene County is to grow the workforce and the population in the county by attracting Latino workers and their families.
The public is encouraged to learn more by attending a town hall meeting. Meetings were held Monday in Jefferson and Rippey.
Meetings are scheduled Tuesday, April 26, at 5:30 pm at the Grand Junction Community Center and at 7:30 pm at the Shriver Community Center in Paton; Monday, May 2, at 5:30 pm at the Scranton Community Center and at 7:30 pm at the Churdan library; and on Thursday, May 5, in at 6 pm at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds.
